| Cleaner Campus, Healthier Tomorrow Campaign Begins!
At Faculty of Civil Engineering, we believe in the power of collective action to make a positive impact on our environment. That’s why we’ve launched a campus-wide campaign to collect cigarette litter from our faculty areas—and the journey has already begun! Yesterday, the first round of this initiative was successfully held, organized by the Water Matters Laboratory (WML) and SHENS Lab. Thanks to the efforts of our passionate students and professors, we took the first big step toward creating a cleaner and healthier campus. Cigarette butts are among the most common forms of litter globally, and their environmental impact is often overlooked. They not only spoil the beauty of our campus but also release harmful chemicals into the soil and waterways. Together, we can change this. What’s Happening? and What’s Next? Our dedicated volunteer students and professors came together to clean up cigarette trash around the faculty, spreading awareness about the importance of a clean and sustainable campus. Our mission isn’t over. We’re continuing the campaign with even greater energy. Join us in the upcoming rounds to help clean up cigarette litter and raise awareness about the importance of environmental responsibility. Building on this momentum, our next step is to tackle another major environmental issue: plastic litter. Plastic waste is a growing problem, and we’re determined to reduce its impact on our campus. Join us as we take these important steps toward sustainability. Together, small actions create big change. Whether you participated in the first round or are joining for the first time, your contribution matters. Let’s make our campus a source of pride and a model of environmental care. Stay tuned for the next rounds and help create a cleaner and healthier campus for everyone. Spread the Word Tag your friends, colleagues, and classmates to join the effort. Use CleanerCampus and NoMoreCigaretteTrash to share your support and encourage others to participate. Thank You A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in the first round, and special gratitude to WML and SHENS for organizing and leading the way. Let’s keep the momentum going.
