| Abstract

The growing demand for a highly skilled workforce in Iran’s engineering sector highlights the need for innovative educational approaches that develop students’ technical knowledge, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Despite this, most engineering faculties still rely on traditional lecture-based methods, which are often insufficient for cultivating these essential competencies. Student-centered approaches, particularly Active Learning, encourage continuous engagement, collaboration, and accountability, transforming students from passive listeners into active participants and instructors into facilitators. Strategies such as group work, discussions, presentations, and formative assessments have been shown to enhance conceptual understanding, academic performance, and overall satisfaction in engineering courses.
