Field Visit to Watershed Management and Flood Protection Projects
Last week, I had the opportunity to join a group of students and colleagues from K. N. Toosi University of Technology (KNTU) on a visit to several watershed management and flood protection project sites in the northeast of Iran. These projects, conducted by the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization (NRWO), are located along the Chelchai River in Minoudasht, Golestan Province, as well as at the Narmab Dam, which is fed by the Chelchai, Narmab, and Khormarood Rivers. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Dr. Seyed Morteza Mousavi and our colleagues and students at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, KNTU, for organizing and participating in this enriching field trip. Special gratitude goes to our hosts and guides on site: Qezelsefloo, Seyed Yaghoub Hosseini, Behtarak (NRWO), Abdolhakim Javid, and Alireza Alazmani (Abva Toseeh Paydar Consulting Engineers Co.) for their valuable insights and hospitality.
