| Students of KNTU Water Chair Visit IWPCO Projects Expo

This week, in collaboration with the Water Matters Laboratory (WML), IRCOLD, and the Iran Water & Power Resources Development Company (IWPCO), students from the Water Chair of the KNTU Faculty of Civil Engineering—accompanied by their director, Dr. Mohammad Javad Ostad Mirza Tehrani—had the opportunity to attend the IWPCO Projects Expo. During the visit, participants were introduced to some of Iran’s largest hydro projects, presented and explained by Dariush Valizadeh and Mohammad Javad Anbari, offering valuable insights into the scale and complexity of national water infrastructure. Workshop Highlights The expo was followed by a specialized workshop featuring: - Introduction to IRCOLD and its key activities, presented by Dr. Mona Masoudiashtiani (Integrated Operation of Hydropower Stations and Reservoirs Committee, IRCOLD) - Water Management in Iran, led by Majid Sayyari, Head of the Integrated Operation of Hydropower Stations and Reservoirs Committee, IRCOLD - Hydro-Hegemony: A Critical Perspective, delivered by Dr. Mikaeel Modirrousta (Iranian Peace Studies Scientific Association, انجمن صلح) Building Bridges Between Academia and Practice Events like this play a vital role in connecting academic research with real-world applications. They provide students and researchers with the chance to engage directly with leading experts, deepening their understanding of national water strategies and megaprojects.
