WML attends Web Summit 2025
Lisbon, November 2025 – The Water Matters Laboratory (WML) proudly participated in two major international events this month: Web Summit 2025 and the 10th CONNECT Innovation and Cooperation Day, held in Lisbon. Representing WML, Dr. Mohammad Javad Ostad Mirza Tehrani, Director of the Laboratory, actively contributed to discussions, meetups, and collaborative sessions focused on innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation. Strengthening Research Collaboration The Lisbon visit provided an opportunity to reconnect with WML’s postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Nuno Martins, to review progress on joint research in two-phase fluid dynamics and to outline the next steps in advancing this collaboration. CONNECT Innovation and Cooperation Day A highlight of the trip was participation in the 10th CONNECT Innovation and Cooperation Day, an event of personal significance for Dr. Tehrani, recalling his involvement in the 2016 CONNECT Program, which played a pivotal role in supporting his return to Tehran. During the event, Ali Hosseini, Deputy of Connect Platform, delivered a keynote introducing the CONNECT Program to Iranian-Portuguese partners and Web Summit participants, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in driving innovation. Dr. Javad Hatami, CEO of Builtrix, also provided an insightful overview of Portugal’s innovation and technology ecosystem.
