WML Participates in INSF–Connect Platform Session on Research Funding and Support Opportunities

WML Participates in INSF Connect Program Session A session on “Introducing the Support Programs, Regulations, and Opportunities of the Iran National Science Foundation (INSF)” was held for scientists, specialists, and researchers participating in the Connect Program, with representatives from the Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) and the Organization for Development of International Scientific and Technological Cooperation (ODISTC). The session was presented by Dr. Ali Jafarian Dehkordi and Ali Hosseini, providing participants with an overview of INSF’s research support programs, regulations, funding mechanisms, and available opportunities. Representing the Water Matters Laboratory (WML) at K. N. Toosi University of Technology (KNTU), Dr. Mohammad Javad Ostad Mirza Tehrani and Dr. Salar Haghighatafshar attended the session alongside Dr. Karim Karim Alizad from SHENS Lab. The meeting offered valuable insights into new INSF funding opportunities and support mechanisms, including programs designed for young researchers, research clusters, and strategic initiatives addressing major national challenges. Particular attention was given to priority areas such as water, food security, and the economy. The announced measures also emphasized efforts to streamline research funding procedures and accelerate the grant-disbursement process. For WML, participation in such initiatives is an important opportunity to strengthen research collaborations, connect international expertise with national research priorities, and translate scientific knowledge into practical solutions for water-related challenges. WML appreciates the efforts of ODISTC, the Connect Program, and INSF in creating valuable opportunities for researchers and specialists to engage with the national research-support ecosystem.
